These cookies keep our core experiences functional, including remembering basic preferences and enabling security protections. They are required for the site to operate and cannot be disabled.
Session-replay (usability)
We use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymized session replays and heatmaps so we can diagnose usability issues — for example, understanding why a page layout frustrates visitors. Clarity automatically masks form inputs, typed text, and text content by default, meaning we see page structure, mouse movement, scroll depth, and clicks, but not the words you read or type. This runs on all visits so that we can actually fix the problems it surfaces. You can opt out at clarity.microsoft.com/opt-out.
Analytics cookies
When you allow analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization. These cookies help us measure traffic, diagnose issues, and decide which features to improve. They remain off until you opt in.
Search term logging
When you use the site search bar, we record the search term and a UTC timestamp. This data is anonymous — no user ID, account information, or IP address is stored alongside the search term. Search logs are used solely to understand which tickers and topics are most popular so we can improve the site. The data is stored in Google Cloud Storage and is accessible only to site administrators.
AI Chat (Pro plan)
The DividendVision AI chat feature sends your messages to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Conversations are session-scoped and are not persisted after your browser session ends. No cookies are set by the chat feature. For full details, see the AI Chat Privacy Addendum.
Managing your choices
Your latest decision is stored in localStorage with a timestamp and banner version. You can update your settings at any time.
