Income Planning
Build a dividend-income goal around real numbers
Choose a monthly target, compare the capital required at several yields, and use portfolio tools to test whether the plan is diversified and durable.
Start with your monthly target
Each guide shows the annual target and required capital across yield scenarios.

Use the nearest target as a starting point, then adjust the calculator.
Test the plan from several angles
A target is only useful when taxes, payout changes, and total return stay visible.
Income-planning reminders
How much capital is needed for dividend income?
Divide the annual income target by the expected portfolio yield. A $12,000 target at 5% implies $240,000 before taxes, fees, and payout changes.
Does a higher yield make the plan safer?
No. Higher yields reduce the arithmetic capital requirement, but can reflect leverage, option premium, credit risk, falling prices, or unstable payouts.
Turn the estimate into a portfolio plan
Use current holdings, payout history, and scenario assumptions together.
